iPads in the classroom Pt. 1

SVN First Grade has implemented 15 Apple iPads into the classroom this month. The children spent two weeks with the iPads learning basic functions (on, off, volume, etc). After our introduction the iPads were integrated into the classroom's literacy centers. In the video above the children are using the iPads to listen great children literature and using them to practice word families that were recorded into their readers response notebooks.

Please follow us this year as we share activities, experiences, and learning from the iPad technology.

SVN de primer grado ha puesto en marcha 15 iPads de Apple en el salón de clases este mes. Los niños pasaron dos semanas con el aprendizaje de iPads funciones básicas (encendido, apagado, volumen, etc.) Después de nuestra introducción de la iPad se integraron en los centros de alfabetización de la clase. En el video los niños están usando el iPad para escuchar literatura para niños grandes y su utilización para la práctica familias de palabras que se registraron en sus cuadernos respuesta lectores.

Reader's Response Notebooks

This week in first grade we introduced the children to their readers response notebooks. The notebooks will be used this year during reading instruction as a tool for reading instruction. The readers response notebooks are a place where students respond to literature by recording their thoughts, feelings, reactions, and questions about the book they are reading or the lesson they have learned. This week we are learning to read the world and to become aware that print is all around us. In the pictures above the children are recording environmental print found in our school.

Esta semana en el primer grado se introdujo a los niños a sus cuadernos respuesta lectores. Los cuadernos serán utilizados este año, durante la instrucción de lectura como una herramienta para la enseñanza de la lectura. Los cuadernos de respuesta lectores son un lugar donde los estudiantes responden a la literatura mediante el registro de sus pensamientos, sentimientos, reacciones y preguntas sobre el libro que están leyendo o la lección que han aprendido. Esta semana vamos a aprender a leer el mundo y tomar conciencia de que es imprimir a nuestro alrededor. En las fotos de los niños son la grabación de impresión del medio ambiente en nuestra escuela.
